chinese new year 2008.

It's the Season to be Rich and Pretty!
here are the updates for the festive season.
everyone dressed up and all pretty.

introducing my lovely parents again.

followed by their beautiful creations.
you might be wondering why my youngest sister, weihui [the one in red] seems so tall.
that's because she's wearing super high heels. about 4 inches! haha. explains why.

and ta da!! the Lim/Lin family:)

Day 1: Da Nian Chu Yi
as usual, our very 1st stop is to my po po's house.
and she always prepares delicious lunch for all of us. yummy!
its the same young granny that made the pineapple tarts if you notice:)

then i pulled every single sister of mine to take a pretty picture.
my da jie was the first.

then my san mei.

lastly was my xiao mei.
but clearly, she wasn't very interested.

and so she got her retribution. haha.
i was trying to take her and daddy.
but daddy was busy watching the telly.
look at her expression. haha.

finally i got my daddy's attention.

and a sweet photo of the youngest
and the oldest in the family was taken.

after awhile, like always.
it gets a little boring just sitting around in the house.
so my meis and i had a mini photo-taking session outside.

although i don't know what pose is that.
but you would agree that they look adorable. haha.then came the robot stunt. haha. lastly, me being the macho man
and them the ladies. sweet:) then we decided to test the ability of
our facial expression: to act shock.
#1: hui. i must say, she did just fine.#2: me. i did not bad too.#3: yi. FAILED! she looks rather angry. haha. so we tried another expression: to act shy.
and to redeem herself, yi had to go 1st.

#1:yi. she has improved. haha.
see those little dimples of hers. #2: hui. what should i say.
she covered more than half of her face! hmm.#3: me. haha. i think i did not bad again.
but then, feels a little constipated. haha.

-end of the test of facial expressions-

we went back to the house.
started chit chatting with my youngest uncle.
rumour has it that he's a millionaire!
so hui was trying to get him to sponsor her for singing classes. he's a man full of dao li. plus practical.
so convincing him wasn't easy.
everything hui said was rebutted with something else.
yi and me had quite a fun time sitting in. from their expressions. i guess you know the outcome. haha.
next stop was my ah ma's house.
we were playing with the rubik's cube.
it's really quite difficult!
even just completing a single colour.
doesn't look as easy as it was on the amazing race asia.
colin and adrian were the winners! yay. support singapore! haha.

anyways, hui was the only one
who could complement the rubik's cube.
sad to say, the rest of us were quite hopeless. haha.

intented last stop of the day: my da yi's house.
i simply adore tiddles, she's super lovable.steamboat was for dinner. then something terrible happened!
i nearly died. no kidding. thank God.

i was seated under this lamp chitting chatting with my cousins.
and it came falling down! so dangerous!
lucky the wires were heavy enough to withstand its weight.
preventing it from landing on my head:( look at the support the lamp needs.
at least 3 fit-looking man! goodness me. it took awhile to repair it.

finally done. a scary experience.
but good thing it's over and everyone's safe.
that's all that matters.so i had to calm my nerves. meeting the man did me good:)
very comforting. haha.

Day 2: Nian Chu Er
the usual plans is to visit all my paternal relatives.
it always starts with dian xin buffet.
my da bo treats the whole family every year.
followed by a long day of visiting.
sadly, no pictures to show.

and to top it up, i visited the man's family in the evening.
didn't take many pictures. so enjoy this:)

Day 3: Nian Chu San
no gambling for the past 2 days. so today was the day for it.
we headed to my xiao yi's house and stayed for the whole day.
the adults played mahjong while the kids played cards.
we had yummy da bao dinner plus yu sheng.
thereafter, gambled again.
that's pretty much the activity for the day.
no pictures too. too busy with the cards. haha.

Day 4: Nian Chu Si
it's my chinese birthday.
i went jason's place to pai nian.
it was another gambling session. haha.
this time round with the sheares hall volleyball people.
there were a few more people like
zaihao, rubin, xiao pang and ah bee.
but they had to leave early.
so didn't manage to take pictures of them.

but let me introduce the rest:

oops i forgot kelly me rachelhere are the pretty babes! haha.
it was quite a good day.
i was quite lucky for both days! won a bit. haha.
i was quite superstitious, so had to have some red on me. lucky lucky!

i had to leave early for a dinner appointment.
met up with SEC for birthday dinner combined with kit wan.
for people who don't know what is SEC. its actually Self-Entertaining Club. haha.
a name suited for my dear friends in real estate. lots of laughter comes along with it.
then home for an early birthday celebration.
