especially for my sister. weihui.
this post is dedicated to my sweet xiao mei. weihui.
she cooked for me a "farewell" dinner. consisting of two dishes.
enjoy! but it might make you hungry. haha:)

and this is the pretty skirt. like it? its from roxy.
this is my beloved xiao mei:)
a fine young lady full of inspirations and motivation.
love her super lots.
trying to decide what to cook.
this is one of her choices. cream of mushroom soup.
a closer look. haha. remember this.
the actual dish looks pretty similar:)
she started from scratch. an ambitious young lady.
these are the ingredients. and since it's mushroom soup.
i guess you know what to expect. mushrooms!!
and mushrooms!!
and more mushrooms!! all sorts of them:)
then she started. i think it was onions plus something. haha.
her in action. being chef-like. and proud of it.
work in progress. mixing of the mushrooms.
and the flour comes in next. sifted.
you will need strength and patience for this.
a good mix is required. and this is not even close.
but slowly. she did a good job:) considering it's her 1st attempt.
and after awhile. ta-da!! looks good ah.
and piping hot serving cream of mushroom soup for one:)

i know it's quite an ugly picture. but she's upset!
because i took a sip of the soup and said its nice:)
but she thinks otherwise and cried 'cause
she thinks the soup was horrid and i was pretending.
that silly sister of mine. haha. adorable.
still holding a piece of chocolate in her hand. haha.
and then she got over it after awhile.
and settled for the next dish. sotong sambal!
a closer look. but this time round. it doesn't look similar. haha.
here's the sotong being thawed.
and in the meantime. she prepared the sambal sauce.
the ingredients: tomatoes and chilli.
her serious at work. removing the tomato skin.
and slicing the chilli.
and they have to be blended.
this is what you get eventually.
then its time for the cleansing and slicing of the sotong.
i always think that a serious human looks attractive
in their own simple way:)
and there you have. cleansed sliced sotongs.
after blending. you add water and boil it.
look at the mess. haha. cooking isn't as fun as it seems.
while waiting for the sauce to be more solidified.
she decided to take a break and relax.
well. she deserves it:)
and this cute little uncle helped her with the timing.
eventually. it is done! ta-da! another yummy dish:)
and the chef of the day. being all proud. haha.

sigh. looking at the pictures and thinking back.
it makes me miss all of you at home even more:_(
